Hi Drawingirl,

Moving this one to here, tried once and it just disappeared? must have hit a wrong button. Hope it doesn't go on twice, if it does please forgive me. I promise I will get the hang of this :clapping: :)

This was the first oil painting I ever did, I must dig out the oil paints and have another go. I was feeling very stressed so I went out bought a 4ft x 4ft canvas and this was the outcome. I did feel more relaxed afterwards.

Bye for now

Thanks for the comments on my guest book Wendy. Regarding this oil painting - it's probably not as bad as you think it is! If you look at it as semi-abstract, it works - bold colours, big, & imposing. I think the best way to learn to use oils is not to try to paint anything figurative until you get used to how they behave. Mortgage the house, buy lots of oil paint, buy a few large canvasses, and experiment by throwing paint on it for fun! You'd be suprised how many watercolour techniques you can do with oils - wet-in-wet is lots of fun. :whistling2:

Thanks for your comments Peter, I have got loads of oil paints, I even got some of them artisan waterbased ones, got some canvases today so here goes I will just slap it on and see what transpires. I obtained some of this liquid clear stuff and liquid white (Bob Ross) this should help me with slapping it around abit :whistling2: Thanks again!
