I'd like to say welcome to the 'Oh look, a loophole' club. But I won't. It just clogs up the site for real artists.

Well, I am a real artist. I have exhibited in many places and am pursuing art full time. It is just that this site has rules that I did not read as attentively as I should have. I will repost in 72 hours as advised. Cheers, Dave

All artists are welcome here, but this is an art discussion community
and we don't admire artists who come here to post only the link to their site.

Hi David,

Many of our Members have been disappointed by colleagues who think of this Forum as place where they'll post 1-2 links without an intention to become a part of this community. That's why we don't look approvingly on similar posts. Hope you'll spend more time after this 72 hours which will allow you to post a new link and you'll also look at other artist's work here.

I hope :clapping: I already saw some of your new posts and think they present you as artist better than some kind of URL's :clapping:

At the risk of being petty, 'real' artists rarely have the luxury of a job in Saudi to fall back on when the 'real' public decide their paintings aren't in fashion. You came in far too hard & full of yourself - we've been here before, the difference is, it's boring the second time around.

I really did not not mean to give that kind of impression. Saudi was not a luxury by any means. I had to live in military barracks and we had terrorist warnings all the time. Near us a compound housing Westerners was bombed. People died. We were living in fear of being bombed or killed.

I had things thrown at me, got called a "Kaffir" ( Infidel) and my room was so small that I had no place to stretch canvases, therefore I had to come up with the way to paint on unstretched ones.

I went to Saudi because I was heavily in debt and unable to develop any art career at all. It helped me in the long run. Saudi still needs people to work there and many people can go there. I am no longer there but in Oman and it is better.
I strongly recommend Oman as a good country to go to. If you have a BA, you can get a TESL certificate ( some $300) and be off to any of these countries.

:cheer: Good on ya davidkessel - I feel for you for things that you have seen which no-one else would like to see and I'm sorry that you probably gave the wrong impression to start with - but if you want to join a nice community then you have come to the right place. I am sure that when people here see what you can do and know that you are not here just to advertise your site or whatever! they will make you quite welcome :) and will enjoy looking at your work :) So I for one hope to see some more of your unusual work :)

Thanks. It is a pity when people misread your intentions, but again, one can't blame them. I have about 500 paintings and weird photos that I would ike to share but I still need to wait more time to provide the link.

Well keep posting here - although you will gather that we do talk about all sorts of things on here apart from art so you might have some other interesting things to tell us :cheer: so why not give it a go :)
