Does anyone know anything about Art Fairs? I'm trying to find out an idea of how much entry costs, is it by space, is it by stall area?? I've done craft fairs, but that was a while ago. This is for a project I am doing fundraising for the ArtHouse, so no-one is going to be splashing a lot of cash around - hence, lots of research!

Peter, are you organising an Art Fair?? or just participating??
Seems like 'space' and 'stall area' are the same thing...

Peter, why not sending an email to Lucy McNeill (London Art Fair Director)
and ask for information (prices etc.) ?

Contact information: 020 7288 6427 or 01892 614 787,
lucym@upperstreetevents.co.uk or lucy.mcneill@btopenworld.com .

You really haven't pointed what information exactly do you need :eekout:
(Art fair what city/country ... ? ).

I think the phrase 'tentatively organising' covers it. It's been put forward as a fund raising event to raise cash for our new building (the art house) in Wakefield......the problem with that is that it will have to be local to the area to stimulate interest from exhibiting artists. I used to do craft fairs, but that was with pottery, only a table was needed...this time I'm going in totally blind - I need a local venue (as contemporary as possible) local artists, punters, advertising, the whole shebang!! I also don't have a bloody clue what I'm doing!! :clapping: :manoyes: What was the question again? :)

Well ... I'm sure there are many agencies in Wakefield (or Leeds) that can organize it.
Give them % from incomes and they will do it. :clapping:

Deco's agency does it good, but I'm afraid you aren't in its working
area. :manoyes:

Just stop wittering...find a pub or hotel with a reception area..beg free use (they get the bar takings and you know what the 'arty' types are like)

Talk to editor of local paper, it's BIG news in Wakefield  , so free editorial.
Who is local 'big' company?? Get them to 'sponsor' ...that will impress their customers and punters...OOOhhhhh ahhhhh Freds Quarry is sponsoring "The Arts!!"...see...i told you they weren't peasants!!

Hellooooooooooo anyone home???...next......

Good stuff. Cheers B, knew you'd come through! Like the idea of 'reception area', rather than hiding away in a private room........I'll work on this, thanks again. :clapping:
