Hello there ,Stickmaker :)
How nice to hear from you. What have you been up to lately???
Looking forward to seeing some more of your fabulous walking sticks ,and your paintings as well as I'm sure you have made a lot of progress since your last posting... Yes ,it would be nice to get people posting again. I never stopped checking in and I'm surprised the site didn't shut down, but I'm glad it's still open and hope some of the others may decide to drop by also.
Best Regards

Hi All
Here's another scene I did this winter. It needs a coat of varnish and I'm thinking of framing. I might just be giving it to my Doctor to hang in his waiting room. My hubby sort of promised him one of my paintings.
I've never had any shown in a public place before, so it's kind of scary, wondering what people will say.
Oh well, if he doesn't like it he can always hang it in the Bathroom,LOL,
Cheers
Della

Hi Stickmaker :)

I'm also glad to see you again on Arttrade hope you are
well and look forward to seeing some of your new works, would be
really nice if you share with us.
You shouldn't have troubles posting images, but just in case have a look at
my last post in this topic that can be of use:

Deedee, nice painting :) , I like the composition of the work just think the green is
a bit raw as a color, that's my opinion if you don't mind.
Hope the doctor will like the present :)
Regarding the site activity, yes it has been quiet recently just because all of you
stopped posting but I never thought of closing the forum mainly for sentimental reasons
and because it would be sad after so many nice art works that have been shown here.
Thank you both for visiting the site and hope to see you around more often. :)

Good Morning Deco :)
I appreciate you taking the time to comment. The actual painting is not as dark as showing. so the greens are actually lighter.but in your opinion what do you suggest, Would you add touches of yellow to the tips of the branches ?? Isn't it nice to hear from Stickmaker again ? I do hope we can get others to join , It is one of the best sites for showing art and getting good advice.. I wonder what all the other members are up to these days....
Thanks for any advice you can give me....

Hi Deedee

I suppose the image doesn't show the real colors but I was thinking
that lighting and softening the greenery on the foreground would actually add more dept
to the painting. As you suggested maybe adding some yellow mixed with hint
of white to the tips of the branches would do the job :) and why not few more detailed
touches here and there on the foreground as well. My thought is that when you paint something
the things that are closer should be a bit more detailed than those on the background
that's the thing that human eye sees and would just add more realistic look.
What do you think? Hope to see the updated work and of course some feedback from
the doctor when you give him the present :)
