Good Morning,
This past weekend I completed a new little painting - little different for me. I took a break from my still life work and and painted a ladybug painting. Please let me know what you think.

Hi Vic
Good Work :) I'm glad you painted a ladybug as it's a favorite of mine.Do you know they are very beneficial as they eat tons of aphids, which can destroy plants in no time ....... :) :)
Happy painting

Oldies can still learn new tricks ........... The alternative is never knowing you could
if you don't give it a try!!!! I'm glad I 'm trying ,and learning!!!!!!

:) Ace Vic! I love the detail and the background, a beautiful painting.

I like ladybugs too Deedee (we call them "ladybirds" on this side of the pond :) )

Did you work from a photo Vic? H x

I used a photo for some reference but I improvised on many parts. Thank you for the compliment.

Thank you for the kind words. This painting is very small - 3.5" x 7". It is done in oil and it took me a couple of days to finish. Maybe a total of 6 hours.

Vic , That's a beautiful painting , realy good . I like the little reflection of the sun on the back of the ladybird and also the little shadow cast by the ladybird, great . Regards Stickmaker

On the close up it's even better seen how well you've done all the details on the dandelion
and ladybug :) , very good work :)

I know it's harder to work with oils on such a small size, requires a lot of attention and a deft hand :)

I agree Deco, it is even more amazing to see the close up image!

Well done Vic, working on a small scale is really difficult, something I would not attempt.

:) Hi Vic - sorry I haven't been on the site for a while and not welcomed you here but hope you like being on the forums etc. This is amazing - I thought it was a photograph initially - that's how good it is - absolutely great work - well done :) :)
