Hi Helz , I also like this one , much better, i think the background "comes over"much softer and peaceful as opposed to the fierce wind forcing the tree to bend . Maybe the first one's background also appeared as a little hard. Only a novice's view mind you .Wish i could do something good. Regards Stickmaker

Thanks everyone, I think the change in medium has proved better for this! I'm not very experienced with pastels, it will be a great challenge to work with them!! H x

Thank you Deco, yes also with pastels on cartridge paper...........it's given the image a really smooth finish. I'm using the pastel pencils, they are less messy to work with, but they are not a cheap medium. I also have to keep sharpening them to get the finer lines. H x
