Hi All, Did this in November 2008 . What do you think. I am afraid I'm not a very prolific painter. Regards Stickmaker.

Hi Stickmaker,
Nice to see another of your paintings. smile.gif
Good work although in my opinion you should play more with
the lights and shades, mixing more colors in different nuances would
not just enrich the palette but would add to the bird 3D look which
is significant when you paint different creatures. Hope you don't mind
me suggesting this. smile.gif
BTW, How do you do with the art classes, still enjoy going?
Thanks for sharing your art work with us smile.gif

Hi Deco , Thanks for your comments . I have varied the colour blue somewhat but obviously not quite enough . I have however really laid the paint on quite thick and scribed into it to give the feathering a better look . I certainly dont mind any suggestions made . Yes i still go to art but not exactly for lessons , i go and do my own thing for about a couple of hours . The guy that runs the place is the same person that was instructing when i was doing his course .Hedoes keep his eye on me and puts me right or will make suggestions . I now go as a none student in company of several artists all of which are very helpful . I'm still very slow painting and take sometime to do a finished work . Regards Stickmaker

Hi Stickmaker smile.gif
Think the blue is OK but the brownish color you've used for
the kingfisher breast is too equal but maybe it's just the image that
doesn't show it correct. Also the green background is to bright
for me and can't outline the bird well as the color is too intense.
As I wrote it's just my opinion smile.gif
Nice to hear you still see your art instructor and keep working in an art group,
it's always nice to get feedback from colleagues and to work
in a creative atmosphere smile.gif
